The new Aquila 45 Sport brings bold styling, powerful outboard performance and expansive outdoor living to the luxury power catamaran market. Measuring 46 feet 6 inches (14.17 metres) overall with a 15-foot (4.57-metre) beam, this distinctive sport boat offers generous space for entertaining alongside accommodations for overnight escapes. Its sharp profile hints at the performance beneath the surface, while the inviting deck layout encourages a more leisurely pace once the anchor drops. For Canadian boaters, the appeal is easy to picture: a spirited morning cruise followed by an afternoon spent swimming, relaxing and enjoying good company.
Twin V12 Power and Confident Performance
Powered by twin 600-hp Mercury Verado V12 outboards, the Aquila 45 Sport pairs 1,200 horsepower with a double-stepped hull design engineered for performance and efficiency. Aquila reports cruising speeds of 38–40 mph—approximately 33–35 knots—and top speeds exceeding 50 mph, depending on load and conditions. That capability adds flexibility to a day on the water, whether the itinerary includes a favourite waterfront restaurant or an anchorage farther along the coast. The journey becomes an enjoyable part of the experience, with the power to cover ground when conditions allow.
Outdoor Living That Expands at Anchor
The aft cockpit is the social centre of the Aquila 45 Sport. Optional hydraulic side terraces expand the beam to 19 feet 4 inches (5.88 metres), opening the gathering area toward the water. Convertible U-shaped seating, adjustable backrests and high-low tables accommodate everything from lunch with friends to an afternoon stretched out in the sun. A serving area with a sink and Corian countertop keeps refreshments close at hand, with an optional barbecue or induction cooktop adding further possibilities. When it is time for a swim, a concealed boarding ladder provides convenient water access.
Forward, inviting bow loungers create another place to unwind, with concealed storage helping keep the deck organised. At the helm, four seats allow companions to share the view and the experience of the passage. Aquila’s emphasis on connected technology brings navigation, engine information, lighting and entertainment into an integrated onboard environment, with smartphone connectivity adding convenient access to supported systems. It is a contemporary approach that suits the boat’s clean styling and focus on sociable days afloat.
Comfortable Accommodations for Two
Below deck, a private cabin with a king-size berth gives a couple the freedom to turn a day trip into an overnight stay. An enclosed wet head incorporates a toilet, basin and shower, providing practical comforts for a weekend aboard. Optional air conditioning adds another level of comfort, while the cabin offers a welcome retreat after a full day outdoors. The arrangement suits owners who enjoy an open, active boating lifestyle and appreciate having somewhere comfortable to spend the night.
